Knights & Knaves

How the app handles your game progress and answers.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Knights & Knaves app ("the App", "we", "our", "us") accesses, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

The short version: There are no accounts and we never ask for your name, email, or contacts. Your game progress lives on your device. When you answer a riddle, the answer is submitted with a random anonymous identifier — never your identity — so each riddle counts one answer per player and can show anonymous, aggregated statistics. The only other data that leaves your device is standard diagnostics handled by Google, described below.

1. Information We Access & Collect

The App handles a few distinct kinds of information:

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, location, photos, or advertising identifiers. The App contains no ads and no in-app purchases.

2. How We Use Information

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Device Permissions

The App requests only what its features need:

PermissionWhy it's used
Internet / network state Load riddles and artwork from our server, submit answers, in-app updates, and crash diagnostics.

That's the whole list — the App does not request access to your contacts, storage, camera, microphone, or location.

4. Analytics & Diagnostics

We use Google/Firebase to collect anonymous, aggregated information about how the App is used and to capture crash and error diagnostics. This helps us find and fix problems and decide what to improve. Analytics data is limited to app-interaction and device-type signals — it does not include your answers history in any identifiable form.

5. Third Parties We Use

We do not sell your personal information. We rely on the following service providers, each acting under its own privacy policy, strictly to deliver the features above:

ProviderPurposePolicy
Google Play App distribution, in-app updates & the optional review prompt Link
Google / Firebase App infrastructure, crash diagnostics & usage analytics Link

6. Data Retention

7. Your Rights & Choices

8. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). It requires no account and requests no personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.

9. Data Security

All communication between the App and our servers uses encrypted HTTPS connections, and we take reasonable technical measures to protect the information the App handles. Because we hold no personal data, the risk associated with our servers is minimal by design. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
